Alphaville v.s. Jay-Z

Sampling music from the 80s is nothing new in HipHop from Pdiddy “inventing the Remix” in the mid 90s to Kanye making his career from using old soul tunes from the 70s and 80s.

Alphaville is a German band from the 80s and I recently heard this song on the radio here in Germany.

This song was sampled by Jay-Z on his new album Blueprint 3 and the song Forever Young.  The man singing the chorus is Mr. Hudson, an artist from the UK.

Word up to Oliver Friebel, my boy from Dresden, who has apparently left Germany for 6 months…Where are you??

In other news:  I am in Berlin for 2 days picking up some things to bring back to Halle.  It is getting cold in Germany.  9 degrees today~!
