Today is nuts! It was POURING rain all day, then at about 4:55pm, thunder and lighting stricking every 20 seconds or so! INSANITY.
For the most upto date weather in Tokyo and in Japan you can use Yahoo Weather. It has little animation of what is happening across the country.
Tokyo has had it hot days for the past month or so, so the rain is overdue.
In the news: 5 construction workers got swept away in the sewage drain and one body was found 4 km away! The other 4 or yet to be found and presummed dead.
Here is a webcam live of Shinjuku where you can move the camera based on the colored bars on the right of the screen. You can check that out anytime. So check it out when you wanna see what is happening in Shinjuku. In fact I bike on that very street on my way to work. I will wave “hello” next time.
Here in Tokyo, they On Sundays they have shopping days where the streets are filled with people and no cars. That is called “歩行者天国” Hokosha Tengoku which means “pedestrian heaven” or car-free shopping. It is really great.
